PA needed for Pediatric Emergency Department - Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia!
Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) is a physician-owned multi specialty medical group practice comprised of over 200 pediatric specialists whose mission is to provide high quality healthcare to children and adolescents, train future clinicians, and conduct research to improve children’s health.
THE FACILITY:
The physicians of CSG base their practices at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia, the state’s only free-standing children’s hospital (206 beds) and only pediatric level 1 trauma center.
This position is within the CSG Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. HKD’s emergency department (30 beds) cares for over 50,000 patients each year and is growing rapidly.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • In this newly created position, Physician Assistants will provide emergency care in the main treatment area of the emergency department at night (11pm - 7am) alongside pediatric emergency medicine physicians.
  • Providers will be involved in caring for a wide spectrum of injury and illness. It is an excellent opportunity to enhance your pediatric acute care skills with access to didactics and mentored training.
    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING MINIMUM:
  • Current Virginia state license as a Physician Assistant holding a valid Compact State license.
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience in a critical care, urgent care, or emergency department preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred. Current clinical competence required. BLS and PALS required.
  • Hours: 104 hours (13 shifts) per month of 11pm - 7am shifts
